Join your fellow alumni and current students for a special reunion weekend to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the University’s football team winning the Universities Athletic Union cup in 1979.
In March 1978 Liverpool won the UAU (now BUCS) 1st team football championship for the first time since 1932. This event will celebrate the recent 40th anniversary of that success and look to re-establish the Old Boys Football Weekend as a major event on the University sporting social calendar.
The activities are being organised by former players, Mark Cripps, Niel Wood, Peter Kane and Max Warren in conjunction with Stuart Wade, Sports Development Manager, and the Alumni Relations team at the University of Liverpool.
Although the focus of the weekend will be on the players and teams of the era of the 70s and early 80s, everyone is welcome, regardless of when you played.
There are a number of different activities taking place over the weekend including a drinks reception, dinner and sporting events. Most activities are free but you must be registered for each event.
